There are many agencies that can help you send money to relatives and friends in Cuba, such as Duales, Western Union, Transcard and others.

Duales offers many incentives such as low cost and fast delivery. You can pay with your credit card, no matter where issue, money orders, bank transfers, cash, etc. Duales has a network in Cuba which allows them to expedite your remittance. Service is available in Spanish & English.

If you take cash with you to Cuba and would like to buy CUC (Cuban convertible pesos) you might end up paying very high taxes to the Cuban government. It would be advisable to carry any other strong currency rather than the USD such as CAD, EUROS and UK Pounds. USD are charge a tax of about 21% when you buy the CUC with USD cash, any other currency is charge a about 11% tax.

Cuba´s Central Bank informed that payments in hotels, restaurants, bars, cafeterias, taxis, shops, car rental companies and other services will be made in convertible pesos.
